Ages 9-12 Character Galatians

The Fruit of the Spirit

Character grows like fruit — slowly, from the inside, and only while joined to the tree.

Bible passage: Galatians 5:16-26; John 15:1-8

Memory verse

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.”

Galatians 5:22-23

Roman Urdu Magar Ruh ka phal muhabbat, khushi, itminan, tahammul, mehrbani, neki, imandari, halimi aur parhezgari hai.

Activity

Fruit tree wall. Draw a large tree on paper. Each child writes on a paper fruit one specific thing they will do this week that shows one of the nine, then sticks it on. Revisit the tree next week and ask what actually happened.

Craft

Nine paper fruits on a branch, each labelled with one part of the fruit of the Spirit, hung as a mobile or pinned along the classroom wall.

Closing prayer

Holy Spirit, I cannot grow this fruit by trying harder. Keep me joined to Jesus, and grow in me what my family and my friends need to taste. Especially help me with patience. Amen.
