A minority under threat
Set the situation carefully. A scattered people, a powerful official who hated them, and a decree for their destruction. Our young people do not need this explained twice; some of them will recognise it immediately.

The safest person in the kingdom
Esther was queen. She was the one Jewish person in the empire who was not in danger u2014 as long as she said nothing. Mordecai's message to her is blunt: do not imagine you will escape.

Three days of fasting
Before she acted she called the whole community to fast with her. Courage here is not impulsive. It is prepared, prayed over, and shared with others.

If I perish, I perish
She went to the king uninvited, which the law punished with death. Read her sentence aloud. Then discuss: what did she actually risk, and what did she gain that staying quiet would have cost her?
Activity
Where has God placed you? Each young person maps the rooms they are in that others are not — a school, a workplace, a team, a family, a neighbourhood. Then, for one of them, they write what "for such a time as this" might mean there this month. Keep it concrete, not heroic.
Craft
A written page again for this age: the group produces a single sheet listing the places God has placed them, kept and prayed over as a group each week.
Closing prayer
Lord, I would often rather be safe than useful. Thank You that You placed me where I am on purpose. Give me Esther's courage, and the sense to prepare and pray before I act. Amen.
