A Sunday School song for children, written and composed by Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, teaching Psalm 119:105 — that God’s Word is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path.
Children learn far more from what they sing than from what they are told. A verse set to a tune stays with a child for years, and it goes home with them when the lesson does not. This song was written so that a Sunday School class anywhere in Pakistan can teach one of the most important verses in Scripture in the language the children speak at home, without any equipment beyond a teacher willing to sing.
**How to use it in class.** Play it once through and let the children simply listen. Play it again and let them join the repeated line. By the third time most classes are singing it without help. Use it as the closing of the lesson *Your Word Is a Lamp*, so the children leave singing the verse they have just been taught.
Teachers with no instruments should not worry. Sing it unaccompanied, clap the rhythm, and let the children lead. Volume matters more than tuning.
